How do these little 10 and 12 inch subs for surround sound go so deep compared to...

...huge car audio subs? I look at Sound and Vision and all that and these expensive 10's and 12's claim and are reviewed to go down to the lowest octaves smoothly. How do they do so good? I know they are proper bass reflex which helps a lot; but as far as displacement; how can they do this when my 2 18's seem to drop off in my Ranger at 35 Hertz!!!!!!!!!! in a 4 cubic feet per chamber sealed enclosure. They are cheap 18's but they are 18's!!! for Christ's sake!!!!! They have like a "power band" at 40 to 55 Hertz but outside that they SUCK
