I'm attending college in Wisconsin and recently received financial aid. It was more than I expected it to be, but maybe that's just because I also received a scholarship earlier in the year (like if I wouldn't have got the scholarship, the financial aid wouldn't have seemed like a lot). I received my scholarship BEFORE I even applied for financial aid. I also paid off some of what I owed for tuition with the scholarship before I even applied for financial aid. I'm wondering if I should have got that much financial aid because I also got a scholarship. However, I know my college knows I got a scholarship because they put "SCHOLARSHIP" as a payment on my account. With my financial aid, they told me that if I receive scholarships I should report the scholarships to the financial office. So do they mean if I receive any MORE scholarships besides the one I already got? For example, if a student with no scholarships gets financial aid, wouldn't they get more than a student who got a scholarship(s)?
Basically, I'm wondering if the amount of fin aid I received is appropriate considering I received a scholarship.
Now, this isn't like an extraordinary amount of financial aid, but it was more than I expected (but not like I'll complain!). I'm just wondering how these things work.
