how do people at fish stores, like specalty stores know so much?

I want to start my own buisness, opening up a fish store. i have some qustions. what do these people major in , in college , to learn about growing plants, keeping fresh and salt water fish in aquariums. growing plants, keeping coral, etc. i mean, dont just tell me they know from personal expernce for the hobby. i mean, how do i turn my fish keeping hobby , in to a profession. i want to start a buisness doing this stuff, that in voles fish tanks and such. however, are they any type of trade schools, colleges, unavirsitys, that teach this kind of stuff? any kind of classes? like what do i have to major in, to be as smart as, and to know, the information , the way that these people do?
 
I was in an exotic fish store about a week ago and asked the owner the same question. He told me that he goes scuba diving and has picked up on fish life by actually experiencing the ocean and when he reads books about different fishes it all comes to life because of his experiences. He has had no formal training and is as bright as the sun.
 
if you are good at the fish hobby and know your fish and reef supplies and know water quality and the the test kits then maybe good luck!!
