I need to have my vegetable garden watered while on vacation for about 5 days. I have looked on the internet and found people were using plastic bottles or jugs by filling a bottle with water and putting a needle size hole in the cap then sticking them into the ground a few inches down next to the plant. I've tried that, the water ran slow or it ran fast, like in one day the water was gone. I tried putting a needle hole in the bottom of the bottle and the water leaked out faster. I would ask someone to water my plants, but everyone will be gone that weekend. Got any other tips? Am I doing it the wrong way or what? Thank You to all who answers.
