How Do I view my browsing history on the internet?

I saw my mom on a site that I want to use but she forgot the name of it and she told me to look for it in the history. I don't know how to get to the history and neither does she. How do I get to my browsing history. I am using a Dell Laptop and I use either Internet Explorer or FireFox.
 
Go to favorites than right on top of your list of favorites look for history and it will display your history from 3 weeks to 2 and 1 week ago and of course today's
