How do I use Verizon DSL In my new PC?

Ive recently bought a new computer. Ive hooked everything up , modems up and working. But no internet connection. I have it setup as my old pc that had internet. I have no router. I use a ethernet port. I dont understand , my new computer does not detect my modem, a Westell 6100. Is there a driver for it to download? Dont give me an answer of you dont need one , please tell me whats wrong and step by step instructions , also if you need more info tell me.
