how do i use a 18 speed gear mountain bike?

i just got a mountain bike it has 18 gears but not sure how to use it here is a link of the picture of the bike http://bigw.com.au/sport/bikes.html and the bike you need to look at is the Boys ‘Doom’ Dual Suspension Mountain Bike
