How do I upload my preview photo 2 facebook on my mac?

so i scanned a photo on my printer onto my mac. it came up in preview, then i tried 2 upload it 2 my facebook but it just didnt work....so i thought i would put it into iphoto and then try but when i look for the photo in the finder it is NOWHERE to be found!!!! help
 
Try look for it in recycle bin. or something.
Hope everything works out, but why dont you just scan the photo again if it doesn't want to work.
