I just got an iphone 3gs with os 3.0.1 and I want to upgrade to ios 4.0.1 so I can jailbreak it. The problem is iTunes wants me to download to ios 4.0.2 but I can't do that or else I won't be able to jailbreak.
- I've tried downloading the ipsw Restore file from a different website and upgrade my iphone through iTunes and it seems like everything works until I get error 3194.
- After getting error 3194 I hear you are supposed to open something in notepad called host and change it but it says apple isn't giving me permssion to save after I do so.
How do I upgrade??? Please this is very important.
