How do I unmute my JVC Tv?

I was watching tv and a mute signal appeared in the top left corner of the tv. I tried umuting but when I hit mute/unmute a different signal shows up on the bottom of the Tv. I don't know model numbers or anything but it is one of those large widescreen LCD tv's I think. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
if the mute does not relase it you need to power down the TV completely unplug it for 10 seconds or so and replug it should be off mute.
