You will see an icon on the right bottom of your screen next too the other quick launch icons. Right click this, select safely remove drive, Then when the menu comes up, select stop drive e or f removable. Look at the flash drive. If it is no longer lit, you can remove it. When you right click on a file you wish too save, select send to, then select drive e or f . Then save. This might work very well for you rather than going through the Windows 7 way of saving files. You can also eliminate this hassle by switching to XP mode. Since usb flash drives are cheap, you can pick up a 7 doller one and try that one in the comp. If it works, you will know your other flash drive is defective, then you can pick up a new one with more space at more expense . Good luck!
