How do I unlock a password on a sony vaio laptop that I bought from a friend?

Someone told me that its in my bios and I have no idea what that means. I don't have the money to take it in anywhere.
 
Why don't you ask your friend for the Vaio laptop passcode?

Or else, your only other option is to reformat the hard drive, and
this obviously destroys the operating system (and all programs and data).
Thereafter, you'll need to purchase a Windows operating system,
such as Windows 7, and start all over from scratch.
