How do I uninstall a Sim's 3 Mod?

I download a Sim's 3 core mod, and the description of the mod was confusing and I was under the impression that by downloading a few other mods the mod would be better. I did so and it turned out they conflicted with the mod. When I went to play there were about 20 places for sims faces, but they had a picture of a brunette Sims 2 character in them, and when I clicke on them they wouldn't take me to the character. Also after my sim changed clothes at all, they would remain nude. I deleted the mods and all the files and permanently deleted them from my recycling bin and made sure everything was gone. I then uninstalled the game and when I reinstalled it they were still there. I really need help so I can play. If I fix this I will never mess with mods again. Any help will do. I also installed the mods with helper monkey which after the problem I uninstalled.
