How do I type [code][/code] in html?

Okay, so in BB code,

Lets you type in other bb code so the whole thing is displayed rather than just the text with the code in action for example it would show "Bold text" instead of it coming out in bold saying "Bold text".

Is there a code in HTML that i can use to display BB codes without them actually being put into use?

I know that < makes a "<" and > makes a ">" is there another code to make a "[" or even better an HTML
