How do I turn on Bluetooth on my Gateway NV79 notebook?

I am attempting to pair my Android phone with my laptop in order to tether the Internet connection, I already have the correct software on both, but my laptop, which supposedly has bluetooth, doesn't register that it does. I tried downloading the Bluetooth driver from Gateway's website for my specific laptop, but the driver that I downloaded insists that I don't have a bluetooth adapter attatched to my computer when the description for my laptop says I should have it and I have an "fn" key for it right on my keyboard, which for now does nothing. Is there a way that I can setup bluetooth to work?

I have an nv79 as well, and was told when I bought it that it was "bluetooth ready but not bluetooth capable." When I asked for a little clarification on that little nicety, the salesperson told me that the machine is capable of having a bluetooth card set up internally, but doesn't at the moment, as there are other cards currently installed. So, depending on your current configuration, you may or may not have one installed. In my case, I don't, so for the moment I'm stuck using an external USB dongle for bluetooth connections. When I press the bluetooth key (Fn6) I get a "No Device" screen momentarily popping up.
