How do I tune my car subwoofer?

On the amplifier there is a low pass filter and a high pass filter, what do i put these on to get the best bass for my car?
At the moment the bass doesnt sound quite right, as if its a bit slow perhaps, rather than a clean, sharp bass.
 
honestly you use your own ear for that... its what sounds good to you man :-)
what i like for my subs to hit on and what you like are 2 different opinions.
Also if you have a prefab box thats another problem right there, they suck get a custom box made....
