How do I transfer recorded videos from my dvr to a USB flash drive?

I need to know how to transfer my recorded videos to a usb flash drive (if thats possible). The dvr I have is one of those from comcast. i noticed there was a usb slot on it, but i do not know how to transfer the videos. Please help ASAP
 
First off you need to see if Comcast has the ability to do that. As far as I know Dish Network is the only one with that ability.
