How do i transfer media from my SD card to my ringtones on my htc Shadow?

Hello, please if you have the time, help me with this problem. I recently purchased a htc Shadow (version one not two), and i'm trying to transfer my music from my memory SD card to my ringtones so i can set ringtones for my friends. How do i do this?
PLEASE HELP ME!
