How do I Taper off of Morphine Sulfate & Diladid?

I have been in pain managment for years and my doctor switched me from Hydocodone 10.325 8 per day to morphone sulfate 100mg 4 x a day and 8 mgs diladid 4 times a day plus a muscle relaxor. I want to go off of my pain meRAB to clean up my system for a while and I have done this before while taking hydrocodone.

Can someone tell me the best way to taper down and will the withdrawals be the same as coming off the hydros?

BTW, I am disabled and 52 years old. I like to come off of them because being on them really srews of your life and I can go for other procedures that are not covered under my insurance that will eliminate some of the pain.
 
Hi well sometimes if a person tries on their own hallucinations or seizures can occur. One thing would be to maybe switch doctors and have the new one help. :smile:
 
Like the others have said, you need the help of a health care professional. Those are powerful medications you're taking and it's not a good idea to change your dosages without the knowledge of your Doctor. If you need to get another Doctor in order to ween you off of the current medication regimen, than you should do so.
