She's 8 weeks old and has a brother that sleeps upstairs. She won't stop whining, i just fed her and she has plenty of water in near her bed. When i carry her, she stops whining and sleeps on my shoulder. When i put her down she starts her tantrum again. Shes probobly looking for attention, but i can't be with her forever. I heard somewhere that brother and sister dogs shouldnt spend too much time together coz they will only rely on each other and not follow us. So thats what im doing.

Any tips on how to stop making her whine and cry?

Ignore the crying.

IT the MORE you feed and water her when she crying, the MORE she cry. Only give her attention when she stops crying

Think she 8week old, she just being seperated from her littermates and she in a new and strange place. Now put yourself in her postion would you be crying too.

Now with humans you go up and give them attention when there crying. However with dogs it a reverse physcology. Given them attention for bad behaviour JUST increases the bad behaviour. So to stop bad behaviour with the crying is to IGNORE it. Picking up when she crying just says keep crying, and you'll get attention.

So when she crying, NO picking up, NO affection, and walk out the room, listening until she stops, immediately when she stops comes back and give her attention. She soon start to realise crying/whining-NO attention,

No cry will result in I'll get attention
