How do I stop iTunes from trying to restore and update my iPhone 3gs 4.0 to 4.0.2?

I just recently jailbroke and unlocked with Jailbreakme and everything was working fine until my battery died and when I turned it back on it showed the connect to iTunes screen. After looking up how to prevent the update to 4.0.2 or jailbreak it, I was just as lost as before.I'm using Tmobile with this phone so otherwise I wouldn't need to know.
