How do I start up photography?

Photography has always been an interest to me although not personal pictures but i would love to take it a bit further but i need help hence why i am here. I would like to take action pictures of extreme sports of some of my hobbies for example: Snowboarding is my main hobby i really enjoy and skateboarding but at the same time videos of me perhaps doing these sports myself or even of other people but i need to be pointed in the right direction, i need information on the best camera's for what i want to do obviously just starting out i don't want the absolute best i can get but I do need a decent camera/camcorder. It would also be very appreciated if people could give me links to some websites that explain perhaps how? to take good photos/videos of the sports? basically i just need to know how i should go about with starting photography? or even just some tips please :)
I have no particular budgit maybe to start with £400-500 like i say im not planning in making this a career just a hobby of a hobby.
 
if you get a flickr account or a deviantart to show off your photos that would help you get advice and hints to improve on for next time as it all takes practice especiahlly with sports photography.
 
If you gave us a budget to work on then it will be a lot of help. There is no point in me listing DSLR's and lenses if you only have £100 to spend.

if you dont have your own studio you can hire one like studiohirelondon.co.uk with all equipments, all you need is your own camera. ask them you might hire the cam aswell.
