Firstly, in my internet research 'switch to Shaw' is the first answer. This is not an option. So, I have 2 computers. 1 is a laptop, and it functions fairly quickly on the wireless network, using a N card. My second computer is a desktop, 1 floor above the router, using a G card. The laptop functions fine, online games, FireFox and IE alike. The desktop is much higher performance in all aspect except the card type, yet times out even on loading e-mail sometimes. I would like some help with router settings or firewall settings to fix this problem. Even port forwarding can be an option. Please help.
I have virus scanned, rebooted, power cycled the router, made sure the card is seated, disabled windows firewall and more. I think either the card is toast or my router settings are screwed up. Help is appreciated.
