How do I share media with my xbox directly from my computer?

I have my xbox hooked up to my computer to connect to xbl. I use the Share Internet Connection setting to do so. But when i try to just get media from my computer it says i need to connect to a Network. I cant figure out how to set that up. Can someone help me?
