How do I select a not so easy to select object in photoshop?

So, I have this picture of me holding a necklace out. I want to turn everything in the photo but the necklace black and white. I'm trying to select the necklace so that I can invert it and switch to B/W.
Is there an easier way to do this besides either trying to draw a perfect line around it with the lasso, or using the magic wand, which is almost impossible because of the different shaded in the necklace, my hand, etc.
Is there an easier way to do this?
Please HELP!

Select the polygonal lasso tool. You get to click around the object, and if you are trying to get around every chain, then just zoom in. a good job should not take more than 5 minutes.
