how do i rust proof a air tank?

I am upgrading the air system on my truck and the new tank i got is bare mettle. can i just use primmer on the inside. will it dry in there with only a couple 1/2in ports and will it hold up the the presser. or should i use something else


if it matters its a 9 gallon tank, and i waunt to put a rust proof in there since water will more than likely get in there evan with filters and draining
