How do I remove the pet-smell from my home?

I have a tiny apartment and 3 pets (a small dog and two cats).

I came home from a trip recently and was confronted with the pet-smell.

So what I want to know is: How do I get rid of it?

- How do I remove it from the carpet? (The floors under the carpet are concrete if that helps.)
- How do I remove it from my couch and mattress?
- Do I need to rewash all the clothes in my closet and make sure to clean the carpet area well?
- Do I need to wash the walls?

Is there anything else anyone can recommend? I don't have windows that I can just open so as much as I'd like to air the place out I'll only be able to do it during times when I can keep the doors open.

(Anyway who suggests I get rid of the pets won't be chosen as best answer and will probably be ignored ;P )

the only way to do that is to keep your pets clean, this means that they have poor hygene. If you keep your pets off the beds and couches you wont have such a big of a problem and make sure you vacume and use lots of air freshoner. hope this helps!
