My ISP blocked a bunch of ports on their end because one of the house PCs was infected and spamming emails. They said my account was quarantined until I could tell them what viruses were removed. I told them I removed the computer from my network and scanned this one and it was clean and they removed the quarantine. They warned me that it was removed only if I agreed to keep that PC out of the network, and if the spam started again it would escalate into an account ban. I tried downloading avg and it's database update to a flash drive but avg won't install w/o an active internet connection. So we come back to the topic question.
Oops forgot to mention the computer was a gift from and is an old business PC. I never got the XP pro discs and it doesn't use a hidden partition, reformatting is not an option at this time. I need to be 100% sure of removal because they threatened to ban my account and they are the only ISP where I live in Alaska.
