I have removed the engine from my 1990 Chevy G20, together with the radiator and auxiliary gearbox fluid cooler. I have left the gearbox in situ. I am fitting a new engine this week.
I siphoned about a gallon of Auto transmission fluid from the gearbox prior to removing the engine. I then had to siphon off a further gallon one week latter, which I presume must have drained from the torque converter.
Whereas I know that I have to fill the gearbox via the dipstick pipe. Is there a way of filling the torque converter, oil cooler, etc, before I start the engine? I don’t want to damage to the gearbox through my ignorance.
Thank you.
