then record again like layers? I am just beginning my music production with FL Studio 9 XXL Producer's Edition. I have used the step sequencer and piano roll to try and make beats but these sound really generic and simplistic. I would rather do it like I have seen a lot of professional music producers do and make the beat in layers. By layers I mean you record part of the song live by using a MIDI keyboard connected via USB and save, and then while playing that "layer" back record a new layer, and keep doing this and build a beat. I need someone who is knowledgeable or is a music producer who is familiar with this technique and the Fruity Loops (FL Studio) software. If you know what I am talking about then I would greatly appreciate the help, thanks.
