how do I rabbit proof my lounge?

I have had my rabbit just over a week now, and now that he is familiar with his surroundings he is becoming even more inquisitive. There isn't anything in the Lounge which could be harmful to him, except the wires behind the TV. To start with he wasn't interested, but now he constantly tries to go behind it. For the time being I put sofa cushions in front of the stand to block it off, but being the nosey bunny that he is, he just jumps on top of them and onto the top shelf of the TV stand, if I'm not quick enough he then jumps down behind the TV. He has already chewed through one of the wires on the wii! I obviously don't want him to chew through anything else or to hurt himself, so how do I make it safe? I thought about putting some sort of covering around the wires, but I wouldn't know what to use. Either that or a more permanent barrier, but again I wouldn't know what to use. The TV is in the corner of the room so I think a barrier could be quite effective, does anybody have any suggestions for what I could use?
 
Well, you can build a fortress around the TV, but rabbits just seem to see it as a dare. LOL!!!

Do the best you can in blocking it off, and at the same time offer toys to distract bunny curiosity.

Use a squirt bottle or noise as a deterrent.
