how do i put one of my pictures for backround image on blender?

im trying to make a body on blender, but it's really hard without an outline. i already have the picture saved on " my pictures" but it i can't find it when i browse the files. pls. answer
 
Are we talking about Blender 3D? You may need to save the file as a jpg or bmp. Better go with jpg (JPEG). Uhm...try saving it somewhere else and then loading it.
