How do I put DVD drivers on a formatted computer?

I need to install Windows Vista Ultimate on a freshly formatted computer. Vista comes on a DVD, but the DVD drive will only recognize CDs.
Please don't answer by telling me Vista sucks, go with XP, blah blah blah. If I wanted XP, I would install it.
