How do I purchase and put a new stereo system in my car?

I know nothing about stereo systems but i want a louder one in my car. I'm looking to buy one at best buy and i think they install too. I don't want something super expensive. I don't know if i should just buy a subs or an amp or speakers... i listen to both rap and rock if that helps. any advice is much appreciated
