I want to install the iPhone OS 4.0 beta 3 on my iPhone. I'm a brand new developer, and I have entered my UUID into the list of devices in the iPhone provisioning portal, but when I restore the beta I'm told that I can't activate because my phone isn't setup as a developer device (and it tells me to add it to the iPhone Development Provisioning Portal. I copied my UUID and pasted it into the Device ID field, so I know it's correct. I've double checked it as well. Do I have to do more that? Do I need to add a profile to it as well?
I have a friend who is a developer; he gave me instructions that don't include creating the certificates until later (which leads to adding the phone to a profile later), but perhaps with the 4.0 beta something is different? My friend is out of town and I don't want to bother him during his wedding.
I just added my phone's UUID yesterday; do I just need to wait until it propagates to Apple's activation servers?
