...governmental intervention? I've been hearing rumors that "Obama is going to take our guns away!!!" Obviously this is an exaggeration, but when a new president steps in with the track record of Obama, there is reason for concern among law-abiding citizens interested in protecting themselves.
In case things should ever progress to the point that the governent is really trying to "take our guns," what can I do to protect my guns? Not all of them are registered I don't think. I've heard of people burying their guns underground, etc. What should I do to make sure the government can't take away all my means of personal protection?

**If any of this sounds illegal, it is only due to my ignorance of the law. I'm not sure which options are legal or illegal, and i presume that the answers I receive will fall into both categories. If it is illegal, please specifiy as you are able.
If you are anti-gun do not waste your breath answering this question. I am merely interested in protecting my Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. This question was not posted in order to spark a gun-control debate.

Join the NRA.

Pilots on commercial airlines are now prohibited from carrying weapons.
The majority of pilots are ex Airforce.

It may be the first step.

I imagine there is jubilation in some circles.

Burying them in a deep hole sounds like a damn good idea. Just make it deep enough that you can NEVER dig them out again. Then forget where you buried the foul things.

My magazines are full and the only way they will leave my possession is if I'm dead or I die with one in my hand. Just make sure you know a few like minded individuals and can unite with them if the need arises.

no-ones going to take away your guns. quit being so paranoid.
you and elmer can still kill wabbits.

your guns are safe, what you've been hearing is just more Republican fear mongering. although you may be required to join a militia.
