I am creating a business where I make web pages/ web sites for anyone that wants me to. I am an experienced web designer, but I don't know what service to offer or how much to charge for it.
(What do I charge for just the basic template and also maybe the up keep of the site? If you have any ideas of what services I can provide, please let me know)

Another problem I have is actually promoting the business. How can I do that and get my business out?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

All depends on how long the design will take you, why dont you for example work it out on what you would like to be paid hourly. So for example you get a project you estimate it will take you 8 hours to complete, you are happy with £16 an hour, so you quote 8 x £16 = £128

Promote your business to start with using PPC (pay per click) advertising, google, yahoo and msn all offer this service. You only pay when someone clicks on your advert, this can be from as little as £0.02 per click. This will help you grow and get new clients, word of mouth will help too.

I wouldnt bother with the up keep of someones website if thats what you meant, you are a designer and design sites, stick to that, let the web hosting companies deal with hosting websites.

Would be nice also if on your website you display a portfoloi of all your work, you can have these in sections like these are all the homepage designs I have created, these are all the logos I have created, these are all the designs I have made for company flyers (watermak them all with your own logo). It helps to have a portfolio, nobody will ever want a design if they dont see just how good you are with all your previous work.

Goodluck and let your design skills do all the talking and I am sure you will do really well.
