I have an M-Audio 88es keyboard. It is just a simple midi controller keyboard. I want to play it through my computer through the USB..
What is the program that I need to do this? I can already do this through Finale or Band-in-a-Box and have found some fancy programs, some of them even for free.
But I am looking for the simplest program possible. Something small and fast. I don't need to play along with tracks, I don't need to record, I don't need beats, etc. All I need is it to convert the MIDI into sound, maybe let me pick the MIDI channel. If it has a metronome I wouldn't complain. I just want something small, fast, simple, and free. I have found some software synths, but they have all been dll files. I want a small, simple, stand-alone program
I am running Windows XP.
What will do this?
Understand, this keyboard produces no sound on its own - it is just a MIDI controller.
