How do i open text messages with pictures in them on the motorola backflip?

Whenever I'm sent a message, whether SMS or MMS, that is 32 KB I can't open or download it. The message reads, "Message Size: 32KB. Expires: June 4, 8:58 PM" and there is a download button. When I click the download button, the button disappears and is says Downloading. The download button eventually reappears, but nothing happens. Help please, I'm getting very frustrated . Thanks in advance
