So i have four fish, two males and two female bettas. i am going to buy a 5 gallon fish tank soon but fir now theyre all in one small bowl. i am also going ro buy somw bloodworms and feed them for about two weeks to get them healthy and ready( im only picking to breed one couple at a time dont worry) im going to buy some plants to put in the tank and i have some food for the babies as well. im not quite sure about how to introduce them. some sites are telling me to cut a cup in half is that the same as putting the cup in the tank so they can see each other? im confused on these two cup things.. what is the syrophoam cup for?

im going to feed them for two weeks, put the male in the tank and put a cup in the tank too (clear one) so they can see each other for about two days, when i see signs of them ready ( the stripes on female, and male spreading out his fins) ill release the female into the tank with the male. then ill give them a couple hours to dance and if they do then take the female out, let the male care for the eggs for like two days. then ill take the male out whenever the eggs all hatch, and feed the babies for 8 weeks or so with right food. then ill seperate the males from females and thats it. is this all right?

IT takes about two weeks for them to be ready. And after they mate the female will kill the male. I suggest you don't mate them unless you know what you are doing which it sounds like you don't. Let the professionals do that.

That sounds right. But are you sure you're ready to breed bettas? You'll end up with hundreds of tiny betta babies, all of which have to be in different containers (except some of the females may be okay living together.) There are already enough in the pet store as it is..
