How do I master the art of gesture drawing?

What I like to do is to draw people in sketchbook as they walk by. But its really hard, cause people move around a lot. Help?

I spent hours at the college library. You need to draw quick because people don't always like being drawn. Try to get the specifics in two or three lines. The rest are just fill it and some detail work if something special happens.
