How do i make Threaded Texts look prettier on MyTouch 3G Slide?

I hate the way it looks. I like the old bubble style. Can someone assist? Is there a setting 4 this?
 
Don't laugh, but i downloaded it. Now how do i use it? This is my 1st official Android phone. Please give me detailed insructions.
 
It gives you instructions when you first run it (you run it like any other app by opening the app drawer and pressing on the app you want).

But in short, you want to turn off notifications on the normal messaging app by starting the Messaging app, menu, settings, uncheck Notifications.

Next time you get an SMS message Android will ask you which app to use to show it, check the box that says something like "Always use this app" and select Handcent. Done.

To set the various settings in Handcent, simply start the app as described at the top of this post, and press Menu and settings...
