How do I make a t-mobile phone work with a at&t sim card?

I have received a Mobile phone that I had as a prepaid phone and now I have a AT&T contract but I would like to use my old Mobile phone since my other one got broken and is out of warranty. Can someone please walk me through opening the T-mobile phone to accept the AT&T sim card and work for calls and my texting?
