How do I make a single photo file out of two photos?

I am trying to make an album artwork for my band and i want to put two photos together (one on top of the other) to make the artwork. Is there an easy way to do this on Microsoft Word that I am missing. I know I could just scan them both but I don't have a scanner. Please Help. Thanks.
