How do I know if my playstation Bluetooth headset is working?

I try to use it for Call of Duty 4 but it doesn't seem to work. I go into the mange blue tooth section and choose the blue tooth I own. I have already used discovery mode to pair the Bluetooth with the playstation. I press the triangle button and select connect. I hear two beeps afterwards. The power button flashes green but does not stop flashing. However it doesn't seem to work. This is the official Playstation bluetooth headset.
By the way, can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
 
ok so you have to hold it for about 15 seconds until you hear a sound.its kinda like a little song...lol
then it should say on the top left corner "wireless headset has been detected".then if u want to check it,go all the way to the left to settings when you press the PS button.go down to accesory setting and go to voice changer.and if u talk,u should be able to hear it.and when ur there,u could also change ur voice.and to turn it off,press the powere button again for 15 or 20 seconds

btw,the green light should be always blinking when its on
 
when your heading for a match there 2 ways when the names come up there should be a little volume symbol or you should here other people voices in the head phone and not coming through the tv .
