i have a 2000 neon that just turned over 80,000 miles. when my car is idling i noticed a knocking noise which yea its there when i first start it up but i remains there after the car is warmed up. the thing i noticed is the noise seems to be on one side of the engine, i really cant make it out if its in the head or in the block. it used to be when i first started it up it made a noise like something was lose in the engine and rattling around then after i rev the car for 10 seconds it disappeared now i don't have that rattling anymore just this weired knocking. and ideas would be helpful and ideas on how to fix it.
