How do i know if my bluetooth is working for my ps3?

I got GTA 4 with a mic awhile back. I synced the Jabra bluetooth with the ps3. Everything went well. There was no issue. But whenever i go online to play games like warhawk and Killzone 2, i can't hear anything. Am i supposed to hear nothing? I don't hear other players, or the game-play. And when i ask other people if they can hear me i get no response from them. Basically what im asking is if there is anything wrong with my bluetooth
