How do I know if a pc headset will work on xbox 360?

I'm wondering how I can tell whether a pc headset will work on xbox 360 because I want to get one where I can interchange between the two.

And if it's not to much trouble, could you please make a recommendation, my budgets around $50-60 though I can go a little higher.
