without a lic. and a legit shop....
you just need your tools and word of mouth....and work out of your garage....I'd say couple thousand for all the tools

Might as well borrow alot because as mechanic you'll never make much. Trust me on this one, if you want to fix bikes as a hobby go for it, but, if you are looking for a career do your self a favor and look ELSEWHERE .
