How do I join a sport?

I'm 15, a girl. I live in Carson, CA. But I don't even know where to begin to try. I looked at the website for local parks but they say nothing about soccer or indoor volleyball. That's what I'm interested in. I also looked on the YMCA website, for one in Torrance but they weren't having anything for me. So I'm kind of lost on where to go now...
